en-bloc to Hotel

Saw the article about the Link Hotel which we passed by weeks ago. It's probably an %!@#$ idea to do a "en-bloc" development on a half century old apartment to make it as boutique hotel.

Low rise flats and high ceilings, dream house of mine. Now charges from SGD 260+ per night. Wonder now how the en-bloc dweller would think: "What? My old flat worth SGD 7000 a month???"

At least it's a relieve that the apartment block, which is part of Singapore's public housing history, is not demolished.
