While eating lunch…. heard the 3 men from next table’s discussion.

One man asked his 2 friends, “Heard of Jack Ma?? The boss of Alibaba???”

Smiling in my heart, of course I know. Stupid me still holding on its shares since IPO.

“Ma said, if anything needs more than 2 levels of approval, the system is totally useless!” The man continued.

The man added. “The next level manager only see signatures of the lower level manager and just signed it. This creates inefficiency!”

Yeah!! I totally agree! Nowadays corporate purchase even few hundreds dolllar, requires operation manager, HOD, fab director, management control, then another 2 levels of purchasing approval. Total of at least 6 levels of signature loop. The system create jobs for all manager involved… :-(

Overheard conversations between Carol and CJ... $600 mental programme for kids and parents?? Perhaps scientists should make USB interface for brains... so that 2 years old kids can repair machines as effectively as we do.

Work hard, Play hard

Thought came 2 weeks after a friend passed away, 31 yrs old, nurse, fellow musician...

I remembered the last word I said to him in earlier week, "You've slimmed down".

Indeed he's slimmed down recently, do a lot of exercise despite heart problem. And gotten heart attack in the middle of the night. Perhaps you'd say he should not do these nor that, but as a health care personnel, he's aware of the consequences.

He'd done what he liked and enjoyed a fruitful life: work hard as a staff nurse, play music, spend time socialising with friends, slim down according to his wish... Perhaps in God's view, he's accomplished his mission and it's time for him to be promoted to heaven.

Nobody is fully certain about the future. Therefore we should spend every moment that we have by playing hard, working hard. After all, we would not regret when our time is due.

Nokla N95

After seeing LCL's Nokla N95, really interested to find out more.

3 phenomenon:

1. More function, touch screen, 2 SIM cards, game emulators, makes the orignal Nokia loser. Perhaps Nokia copy the idea from this phone?
   
2. We have the most power cloners in China. Who clone till it look exactly the same as the original.
   
3. Brand effect. Why we worship on brands???

Should I Get a New Job?

Yea.. even bosses ask. Probably plenty of OPPORTUNITIES outside the blue parallelogram fish tank, why should I so contented to be here?? Confused.

ADSL modem dead

My 4-in-1 modem (from Singtel) dead while uploading photo & updating blog massively. Left a BIG MESS - blogger update gone, need to rework one by one.

At night after reaching home, pull out the old 3-in-1 and verified the freebie was dead. Think warranty gone long ago, hell to it, the freebie only lasted 15 months.

Now move back to 3-in-1... modem + router + switch but no wireless, back to hard wire again.
