The story tells us these...

1. We'll soon be living among piles of rubbish.
2. We'll soon be fooled by robots and computers, instead of controlling them, they'll be controlling us, mastering us.
3. Human beings will talk to each others via computers rather than seeing face to face.
4. Big corporations will control every aspects of lifes.
5. The space ship is indeed a future version of the Noah's Ark.
